A Cook's Companion Says Good-Bye After 20 Years On Atlantic Avenue

Some store closings in the community are sadder than others. The notice that Cook's Companion at 197 Atlantic Avenue will be leaving after twenty years in business hurst a LOT.
A Cook's Companion stocked kitchen tools 'for Brooklyn chefs', sharpened knives, sold Soda Stream refills, beautiful candles, sold cook books and so much more.  It was one of the only, if not the only such store in the vicinity and it will be missed tremendously.
A notice in the window reads that the final day is anticipated for mid-February. "We are proud to have contributed to the vibrance and growth of the neighborhood and we are now ready for another challenge.  It has been our pleasure to be part of your lives and this community," the sign says.

We wish Jennifer, Evelyn, Erica, Jen, Conrad, Sara, Leslie and Paul well.  The Cook's Companion will be greatly missed by many.
