Easter Walk Through Brooklyn Botanical Gardens In 1960's

It's comforting to know that not everything changes with time. Take a look at this sweet video I came across. It was taken at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens on Easter Sunday in the early1960's.
How many families will do the exact same thing this week-end?
Love the fashions and the cherry trees in full bloom.

Do you have any old photos of Easter in Carroll Gardens or Brooklyn in general that you would like to share?  Just send them along and I will post them.

With the temperature continuing to climb way above where it should be for March,  nature is quickly awakening from its winter slumber.  It was astounding how many flowers and trees were blooming or just about to bloom in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden this Sunday.
Luckily, the Garden really was not very busy at all, and those who had come were definitely enjoying themselves, especially the little ones.
Don't wait too long to plan a visit.  Daffodils are everywhere and the Magnolia blooms are about to open.

We are hosting our young niece at the moment.  Since she has never been to Manhattan, nor to Brooklyn before, there is much territory to cover.
As part of the tour, we showed her St. Augustin on 6th Avenue in Park Slope, the church in which Grandma and Grandpa Kelly got married.
