Local clothing and accessory designers holiday event

What
: “Design & Dine” at Deity in Brooklyn is announcing it’s launch event, offering the Brooklyn community
an opportunity to shop and dine on both floors of the beautiful Deity Supper Club and lounge. Through out the night, Deity will be serving up a special Prix Fixe menu upstairs to patrons for $25. All guests will receive one complimentary “Design & Dine” cocktail of Domaine de Canton Ginger Liqueur & Champagne, additional “Design & Dine” cocktails are at a special price of $5.

Who
: Local clothing, jewelry and accessory designers.

Why
: “Design & Dine” was created to promote local, Brooklyn based designers and businesses within their community. By promoting local design and local business, we are strengthening our local identity and local economy.

"One Night, The Rain..." At Deity Bar And Lounge


Les Manouches, a new independent theater company is presenting a piece of original work at the upcoming BoCoCa arts festival in Brooklyn (see bococaartsfestival.com). Their production, 'One night, The Rain..' is a "very humorous, melancholic, poetic piece of work" based on a G. G. Marquez story.

'One Night, the Rain...' is a stage adaptation of the short story 'Maria Dos Prazeres' by Gabriel García Márquez; poetry from Derek Walcott and Constantin Cavafis, music adapted from Tom Waits’ work.

Using storytelling, puppetry, dance, and live music, The Manouches tell the story of Maria, a 76 year old prostitute, who lives while meticulously preparing for her death, until her random encounter with a young man on a cold rainy night....


Created and produced by Les Manouches, a new theater company dedicated to making original cross cultural interdisciplinary theater.
Directed by Aktina Stathaki
Musical arrangement by Jerome Simeon
Performed by Aktina Stathaki, Jerome Simeon, Jillian Johnson, Lilly Hayes, Cassandra Weston.
