Those chairs where "dumped" in front of our building, probably from down the block? I moved them and they weighted a ton so that they would go out in our building garbage and not litter the street. I also called 311 to complain about the dumping and so we would not get a sanitation summmons for having left them out. I'm sure they were thown out because no one could possibly have moved them around their kitchen table they were solid metal!
Those things looked pretty heavy. There was a sixth chair which someone had dragged just a few feet further down the block.
To imagine that there are people randomly dumping their old stuff in front of folk's homes. Incredible!
Yeah, I live by there too and the stretch on the side of the library gets treated like eveyrone's dumping ground.
I once saw this guy in a VW Passat pull up, empty all kinds of garbage out of his trunk (including an old car battery leaking acid) and take off.
Ran down but couldn't get his plate in time.
We're all kind of fed up with it and we plan to take names and numbers and get anyone we see dumping fined to the full extent.
