Sunday? So What! Let's Build Anyway At 340 Bond!

oo

Sunday, Smunday...
What does it matter?
Bang, bang!

If D.O.B. can't control the thousands of construction sites in this city, they won't catch the work going on during a Sunday at 340 Bond Street, right?
Except the neighbors care. And here is an email and pictures to prove it.

Construction on Sunday again. I just called 311 to file a complaint. We'll see if DOB shows up.This shows DOB is asleep at the wheel. There are many complaints on this building. It's one of Scarano's fuzzy math miracles. Wait until the buyers find out it is built on a swamp and the basement is constantly flooded. Scarano will call it a pool! Bloomberg won't fire the DOB Commissioner. How many more people need to die because of her inaction.Everyone should call 311 and complain. Maybe this will motivate DOB to do their job. Photos tell it all!

Last winter, the basements repeatedlly flooded in the bvuilding - partially with rainwater and partially with Gowanus Canal water (you could see the tide come in / out).

This has seriously impacted the building foundation so I advise you to walk on the opposite sidewalk in case of collapse.

I know that both Bill D. and Joan M. were notified of this. I won't hold my breath that they will respond but I hope that De Blasio takes some action because to do otherwise sends the message to developers that illegal construction is OK in Carroll Gardens and that all these rallies for downzoning and safe legal construction practices is mere pandering to his angry CG constituents.
