If you love history as much as I do, this event is a must!
A visit to the Lefferts Historic House is always worth a visit, but for three days in November, it will be even more so. For three days only, incredible historic documents, rarely seen in public, will be exhibited at the house. On display will be a 1641 land grant on parchment with the seal of Peter Stuyvesant, the Director-General of New Netherlands, a 1779 bill of sale for a slave named “Jenny,” and a 1778 inventory of the estate of John Lefferts. And best of all, the event is free.
We all have to go and check them out, right?

On Display at Lefferts Historic House for Three Days Only!
Documents and books offering a view into the life of 17th century “Nieuw-Nederland” and the 18th century farming communities of Brooklyn, will be on display for three days in November at the Lefferts Historic House in Prospect Park. Many of these materials have not been seen in public in decades, but are coming out of the Lefferts archives for this special showing on:
November 11, 14 & 15,
Lefferts Historic House
from 1 – 4:30 p.m. each day.
The exhibit is FREE.

Hmm, restaurants in Carroll Gardens....
Frankly, I've had to drastically curb my restaurant spending lately (bloggers don't make money),
so I tend to go to the places that still offer a great value. I still love Savoia on Smith. Have heard great things about Sue Perette. A reader just wrote a review of this latest French addition to restaurant row. I am dying to check it out.
