If you love history as much as I do, this event is a must!

A visit to the Lefferts Historic House is always worth a visit, but for three days in November, it will be even more so. For three days only, incredible historic documents, rarely seen in public, will be exhibited at the house. On display will be
a 1641 land grant on parchment with the seal of Peter Stuyvesant, the Director-General of New Netherlands, a 1779 bill of sale for a slave named “Jenny,” and a 1778 inventory of the estate of John Lefferts. And best of all, the event is free.

We all have to go and check them out, right?

Sorry for the first comment left was anonymous but I did not have a Google Account. I now do. Also want to tell you that I really like your site and I stop by about 2 or 3 times a week. Thanks.

Hi Mark C.,

Welcome! It's always nice to hear from my visitors. Glad you like the site.

Would love to give you a restaurant recommendation, but the Lefferts house is sort of out of my normal dinner range.
Maybe someone else could help out?
How about it, readers!
Where is a good place to eat around there?

And Mark, now that you have an account, I hope you will leave plenty more comments.

Katia, so since we are not getting any response to eating near Prospect Park what is good in Carroll Gardens? Mark C.

Welcome back, Mark C.

I guess I don't have too many readers from that part of Brooklyn.

Hmm, restaurants in Carroll Gardens....
Frankly, I've had to drastically curb my restaurant spending lately (bloggers don't make money),
so I tend to go to the places that still offer a great value. I still love Savoia on Smith. Have heard great things about Sue Perette. A reader just wrote a review of this latest French addition to restaurant row. I am dying to check it out.

Where have you gone lately?
