Another wonderful screening as part of the Big Movies For Little Kids series at the Cobble Hill Cinema. What fun!
at Cobble Hill Cinemas Monday, March 8th at 4pm
Paramount’s original 1924 live-action version of J.M. Barrie’s stage classic is a lavish fantasy that captures the fairy tale magic of flying children, wicked pirates, and a wondrous storybook land where kids never grow up. A masterpiece of silent cinema, the inventive scenery, amusing costumes and special effects seem surprisingly contemporary and will charm both children and their adults. (1924; not rated; tinted black and white; silent with English intertitles; USA; 102 minutes)
Bonus: The film’s intertitles will be read aloud by Judith Barnes, artistic director of Court Street’s own Vertical Player Repertory Opera www.vpropera.org
