Friend and Reader S. just sent me an email wondering if I knew what happening on Court Street on Monday afternoon. She writes:
"Any idea what happened on Court Street around 5:15 pm this afternoon, really wild smoke, tons of fire trucks, ambulances, etc."
I was in Manhattan most of the day, so I missed it. Can anyone fill us in?

And another question, what is the story behind the sewer explosion at Union Street this past Sunday? It shook all the houses for blocks and it was said that three sewer caps were blown off.
