It was clear that a storm was approaching. All afternoon, dark clouds had rolled in, but from one moment to the other, the sky turned black. I have never seen such a spectacular thunderstorm here in Brooklyn before.
Is every one all right?

it was a tornado
It sure looked like it, but was that confirmed?
There were tornado warnings, but the news hasn't confirmed any touching down yet. They are reporting trees being sheared in Park Slope, and I can see one or two from my windows here in Clinton Hill. As fast as we moved to close the windows, our apartment (on a high floor with nothing in front to block winds) is soaked. We've never seen anything so extreme here.
I can't believe how quickly the sky turned pitch dark.
A big branch broke off a tree at my corner.
I have been told it was a Tornado
Channel 4 has reports of a funnel. It sure looked like one from my house in cobble hill
They are talking about 80 miles an hour winds here in Brooklyn, so it probably was. Hope everyone is all right.
First it was green, then a huge dark gray wall of cloud, then black. I swear in my yard it looked like a movie.
NO confiration on the tornado yet? What is taking them so long?
Katia, what would happen if the funnel flew over the toxic Gowanus Canal? I shudder to think of that water flying around! I live on Bond Street.
You and I both, Nick. I am always afraid of a hurricane as well. The Gowanus Canal water would definitely overflow its bank in a Category 3.
