Have you ever noticed how many people hang out on the Carroll Street Bridge on a sunny afternoon? The day I took this photo, there was a couple photographing the water, another couple was deep in conversation and a young woman was soaking up the sun.
It may be polluted, but there is nothing like the reprieve from city life one feels while standing on the carroll Street Bridge, while looking at the big blue sky over the waterway.

When the sun shines, Carroll Park is so packed with kids and games that the Carroll Street Bridge offers a place of quiet under the open sky.
Thank god they aren't there during the week...
