JOIN Friends of Carroll Park FOR Their MONTHLY MEETING!
THURS., 5/3 - 7:30 pmOn the first Thursday of each month, we meet at 7:30 p.m. in the Robert Acito Park House to discuss park upkeep and help map out future events and volunteer projects. Come meet some neighbors who help maintain the park and learn how you can pitch in!
SPRING EDITION OF "IT'S MY PARK DAY"
SAT., 5/19 - 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
On Saturday, May 19, we'll be one of the city parks participating in the semi-annual "It's My Park Day" celebration! Spend an hour or two (or four!) weeding, painting, planting, and cleaning while meeting other neighbors who help keep our park and our neighborhood great. There will be opportunities for all ages, and also programs and awesome presentations for the kids. Stay tuned for more details!
ELECTRONICS WASTE RECYCLING DRIVE
SAT., 5/19 - 10:00 am - 4:00 p
Corner of Smith St. and President St.
We were able to recycle nearly ten tons of unwanted and outdated household electronics between the first two electronics waste drives we hosted in collaboration with our friends at the Lower East Side Ecology Center, so we've invited them back for a third go-around coinciding with our "It's My Park Day" activities and festivities!
Drop off cell phones, TVs, computers, monitors, printers, keyboards, mice, cables, drives, A/V equipment, and more, and the LESEC will ensure that it's recycled in a responsible manner. For full information on what can and can't be accepted, refer to the FAQ here.
RESERVATIONS OPEN NOW FOR SPACE AT THE CARROLL PARK COMMUNITY FAIR (formerly known as Carroll Park flea)!
Saturday, June 2 in the ball field
As it does every June, the Valentino ball field will turn into an open air market for a day on Saturday, June 2 (with a rain date the following day). As always, we offer some of the best rates you're likely to find:
$35 for an interior space, $50 for a fence adjacent space!
To reserve a 10' x 10' space (cash or check only), email your name, phone number, and a brief description of what you'll be selling (i.e.; jewelry, records, household miscellany). Sorry, but we cannot allow food or drink sales.
Rental includes the space only, no amenities:
vendors must bring their own tables and/or chairs.

Perhaps with the increased amount of crime in & around Carroll Park, the "Friends of C. Park" should call Curtis Sleewa and get some Guardian Angles posted around the Subway & in the park. He's always around at one of the restaurants - why not aask him?
