Power Outage Reported In Carroll Gardens Today

This afternoon at about 2 Pm, a Con Edison crew had blocked off Court Street between Sackett and President Streets and was busy working on an underground section at Union Street. Most probably, the work is related to the electrical fire in front of Body Elite two weeks ago.
Not far away, another Con Ed crew had blocking off Union Street between Smith Street and Hoyt Street. A back hoe was digging up a section of street.
This afternoon, reader Eric sent an email asking if I had heard about power outages on Court Street between Third and Fourth Place.
Obviously, the snow, ice and salt  have done a number on underground cables this winter.
