Normally at this time of year, the croci in my garden are in full bloom and the primroses and daffodils are getting ready to follow right behind.. This year, everything seems to bee weeks behind. A blanket of several inches is still covering my back yard, and the front garden is just barely waking up from its long, drawn out slumber.
But signs of spring can be observed in the neighborhood nevertheless. Just look at this witch hazel that has just begun to bloom at the corner of Smith and Carroll Streets.
Can't wait for other plants to follow its lead.

I'm not sure because your photo isn't close enough, but I think that's forsythia, not witch hazel.
