Nadine Bommer Theater Dance Company and Gowanus Art + Production are bringing "Invisiball' to the 5Ø1 Union venue in Gowanus for three nights this June. The physical theater experience "transforms ten delicate dancers into ultra-macho soccer players, combining physical theater, dance and comedy into a 360-degree experience that will show you a side of soccer you’ve never seen it before."
The tickets are $35 before the show, $40 at the door.
Here is more information:
"After much success worldwide with performances in Berlin, Prague, Copenhagen, Bologna and Macau and collecting numerous accolades along the way, award winning director and choreographer Nadine Bommer is thrilled to bring Invisiball and her dance company to the Brooklyn scene.
A comical performance about one of the world’s most popular sports, soccer, Bommer’s storyline and choreography will transform 10 delicate female performers into virile, ultra-macho soccer players and the open space of 501 Union into a stadium, complete with hot dog stands, beer, roaring cheers and soccer hymns. The show follows two soccer teams as they warm up for a game, go to battle on the field, and all the drama that ensues between the two clubs and teammates. The audience is immersed into the experience from the moment they enter the theater in what Nadine calls a 360-degree theatre experience."
