Many in the neighborhood may have realized that Hunter's at 213 Smith Street closed its doors during the summer. The popular restaurant and bar offered a nice seasonal American menu and served great drinks in a casual atmosphere. The week-end brunch in particular made this a favorite spot in the neighborhood.
Its replacement, Brocccolino NY, will open in the storefront vacated by Hunter's soon, according to signs in the window. The eatery will be a "contemporary trattoria serving Italian eats such as homemade pasta, pizza and kale caesar salad."
Broccolino will be an outpost of a restaurant by the same name located on Dean Street between 5th Avenue and Flatbush Avenue.
Don't know about you, but I already miss Hunter's. How about you?
Does anyone remember Athena, the greek restaurant that operated at this spot before Hunter's?

How many new Italian restaurants does this area need? I'd say 0.
RIP cucumber mimosas...
Did you see Jake Walk is also closing in October!?
They seemed so young and hungry. The place was cute and chic. Oh well. I can't wait for a TGIF Fridays to open after Broccolini moves out.
Athena couldn't decide if it was a nightclub or a restaurant with those disco lights out front.
