If you happened to walk down Smith Street and President Street along Carroll Park this past Monday, you may have felt as though you were time traveling back to the 1960s. That's because scenes for the upcoming Epix T.V. drama "The Godfather of Harlem," were being shot right here in the neighborhood.

According to a synopsis on Wikipedia, the series tells the "true story of infamous crime boss Bumpy Johnson, who in the early 1960s returned from ten years in prison to find the neighborhood he once ruled in shambles. With the streets controlled by the Italian mob, Bumpy must take on the Genovese crime family to regain control. During the brutal battle, he forms an alliance with radical preacher Malcolm X – catching Malcolm’s political rise in the crosshairs of social upheaval and a mob war that threatens to tear the city apart."The TV prequel to the 2007 film, 'American Gangster' stars Forest Whitaker, Vincent D'Onofrio, Paul Sorvino and Ilfenesh Hadera. It will air in 2019.

Did you catch any of the action? Did you take photos that you might want to share?
