City Harvest Food Drive At Carroll Park On Sundays Now Through January

Friends of Carroll Park has organized a food drive with City Harvest each Sunday starting on November 28, 2021 through January2, 2022 and help feed those in need this winter.

Volunteers will be in front of the Bob Acito park house from 11am to 1pm to accept your food donations.

The most needed items are: canned fruit and vegetables, peanut butter (in plastic jars), mac and cheese, and hot and cold cereal.
*Important note: City Harvest cannot accept glass containers, home made items, expired items or dented cans.

If you’d like to volunteer to help out with the drive.  Spend an hour or two on a Sunday afternoon greeting food donors. We'll make sure there are at least two volunteers per shift so you will not be alone.
Consider volunteering as a family!

Please Contribute To Carroll Park's Holiday Food Drive This December

As the Holidays are approaching, we all should take time to think about the meaning of the season. Lending a helping hand to those in need is, after all, so much more gratifying than shopping for gifts that none of us really need.

In that spirit, Friends Of Carroll Park, the non-profit organization dedicated to improving the park for everyone, is launching its annual City Harvest food drive campaign to collect non-perishables to help fight hunger throughout New York City.
The items most needed are:
- canned fruit - canned vegetables
- peanut butter (plastic jars)
- macaroni and cheese (packaged)
- hot and cold cereal (packaged, family-sized)
(Please note that City Harvest cannot accept glass containers or dented cans.)

So, on your next shopping trip, pick up an item or two to share with hungry neighbors this holiday season. Please drop it off at Carroll Park's Bob Acito Parkhouse on:

Saturday, December 1   1pm-4 pm
Saturday, December 8   1pm-4 pm
Saturday, December 15 1pm-4 pm
Saturday, December 22 1pm-4 pm
Saturday, December 29 1pm-4 pm

With the Holidays upon us, we may want to remember that many struggle to feed their family during this time and throughout the year.  Let us show that Carroll Gardeners care by contributing to City Harvest.
All you have to do is to bring non-perishable food such as peanut butter, cereal and canned food to the Apple Bank branch at 326 Court Street, which is one of the collection points for the current food drive in partnership with the Daily News.
It is as easy as picking up some additional items while we grocery shop on Court Street and dropping them  off. Please encourage your neighbors to do the same.
