St. Paul's Is Holding A Kids Day Mini-Flea This Saturday

St. Paul's Episcopal Church at 199 Carroll Street will be holding a mini kids-themed flea market in its courtyard this Saturday, September 22, from 10 AM to 3 PM. There will be kids clothing, books and toys, baked good and lite barbecue. 
Don't miss it...and don't forget to swing by the Carroll Park Fair tomorrow.

Mother's Day Concert At St. Paul's Church On Carroll Street

St. Paul's Church at 199 Carroll Street is hosting a special Mother's Day Concert this Sunday, May 11 at 4 pm. Come hear the Coir and Treble Singers under the direction of Choirmaster Vince Peterson. Works include the music of Josquin, Poulenc, Victoria, and more. Plus, the NYC premiere of Edward Poll's setting of a surprising Marian text by Edgar Allen Poe!
Tickets are $20 for adults, $5 for children and $30 for the entire family.  Mothers attend for free.

And Happy Mother's Day to all the neighborhood moms.

Upcoming Spring Concerts At St. Paul's Church

St Paul's Church at 199 Carroll Street here in Carroll Gardens continues to impress with its music programing.  Several wonderful music events have been planned for May, so mark your calendar. Not only are the concerts reasonably priced,  the setting is simply beautiful.

Spring & All It Brings – A Recital of new Vocal Works featuring Heather Michelle Meyer

Please join St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Saturday, May 3 at 8:00 pm. for an evening of new vocal chamber music. The Brooklyn Sounds Concert Series presents soprano Heather Michelle Meyer’s and Spring & All it Brings” a program featuring works by David Felsenfeld and David T. Little and premieres by Jeremy Howard Beck, Jennifer Griffith and Vince Peterson.

A native of Santa Barbara, California, soprano Heather has received critical acclaim for her “strong shimmering voice” and her “riveting, poignant delivery. She has performed extensively with the San Francisco Conservatory's New Music Ensemble and has collaborated with such groups as American Opera Projects, and Encompass New Opera Theatre.

Suggested admission is $20, with tickets being available at the door.


On Friday, May 16 at 8 pm. St. Paul’s is pleased to host the Empire City Men's Chorus’s May 2014 concert A MORE PERFECT UNION. A celebration of the quest for freedom, peace and equality. Join them for a night of timeless political and social writings, speeches, and addresses woven into compelling music arrangements for men's ensemble. 
 Many of the featured texts come from historical luminaries like Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Susan B. Anthony. You will also hear Melissa Dunphy's award winning What do you think I fought for at Omaha Beach, a setting of Philip Spooner's compelling testimony on marriage equality given in 2009, and the world premiere of John Conahan's One Song with text by 13th-century Persian mystic and philosopher Rumi. These works represent centuries of struggle for social equality, a struggle that continues to mold and shape a unique and great American nation, but with all that greatness, there is still work to be done...
VIP tickets are $75 (Single) and $125 (Couple) and include front row table seating, select wine and catered hors d’oeuvres. General Admission tickets are $30 and $20 for Students and Seniors (15% early bird discount if purchased by Friday, May 2, 2014). Rummage Sale At St.Paul's This Week-End

Everyone loves a good rummage sale.  There is one at St. Paul's this week-end. Don't miss it.
St. Paul's will be a holding their Fall Rummage Sale on Saturday September 21 , 2013, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the church's Parish Hall, located at 199 Carroll Street off the corner of Clinton St.
Come down and browse our goods. You will be pleasantly surprised at what you can find and buy at bargain prices. Stock up on some good books in both hardcover and paperback, pick out a new frock to wear from our vintage clothing racks or let our freshly baked goods and franks and sliders hot off the grill tempt you into breaking your fall diet. We also have an eclectic collection of hand crafted items, CD’S and DVD’s to choose from, and the usual bric or brac, knick knacks you have come to expect from sales like this.An event like this allows you to shop and leave with shopping bags overflowing with half the guilt, and your budget still intact. This Sunday, St. Paul's Church To Host Talk On Global Warming And Climate Change

This Sunday, St. Paul's Episcopal Church at 199 Carroll Street will host a talk on climate change and global warming.  Keith Edwards, a parishioner of St. Paul’s, who attended a seminar last year given by Al Gore and his organization The Climate Reality Project,  will speak about this very important issue.

Our planet is heating up, and carbon pollution is to blame. Despite overwhelming international scientific consensus on climate change, the global community still lacks the resolve to implement any meaningful solutions. Climate change is already happening, and it has entered our daily lives.

Keith Edwards, a parishioner of St. Paul’s is also a member of the Leadership Corps for the Climate Reality Project, an organization devoted to saving the planet. In 2012, he attended their conference that was given by former Vice President of the U.S., Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and Chairman of the Climate Reality Project Al Gore.

St. Paul's Church On Clinton Street Hosting A Rummage Sale

St. Paul's Church on Clinton Street will be hosting a rummage sale on Saturday June 11. 2011,10:00 AM to 2:00 PM in the church's Parish Hall. The entrance is located on the Carroll Street side of the church (199 Carroll Street). For those wishing to donate, the church will be accepting items on Thursday and Friday June 9 and 10, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
