A typical New Yorker. This lovely old tree, like most inhabitants in this city, has outgrown its home a long time ago. Once upon a time, it must have been a lovely tree pit with iron fencing and brick edging at one time....
No longer satisfied with his housing situation, the tree has simply
spread out around it.
Maybe he should just hire an architect and plan an addition!

They call it "infrastructure conflict", but that doesn't capture so weel as your photos!
Oh, that term could be applied to so many things here in Brooklyn (or the whole city as a matter of fact.)

I actually felt really sorry for that poor tree. It wanted to break out of that confined space so badly.
