Pardon Me For Asking, But What Happened To The Mail?

oo
Now, I know it is difficult to get around our neighborhood since Sunday's blizzard, what with all of the unplowed side streets, but would that fully explain why I haven't gotten mail? After all, most mail carriers walk and don't drive. I have heard from some of my readers that they haven't gotten their delivery either.

Sure would be nice to get the checks I am waiting for, so that I can pay my tax bill. And the water bill. You don't suppose Mayor Bloomberg and his administration is going to give us a grace period because of the delay caused by the snow, do you?

We haven't had mail either. It's ridiculous.

My mail carrier doesn't deliver mail every day even when the weather is perfect but amazingly I've had my mail delivered the past few days.

Also, the postal service is run by the Federal government, therefore NYC government has nothing to do with it.

I know that the USPS is Federal, but if they can't get through the snow to deliver the mail because the city hasn't plowed all the side streets...
what a mess.

the mail carriers driver their own vehicles to the neighborhoods in which they deliver. just another excuse for poor service (we've had no mail either, since Thursday)

Yes, this storm certainly has been a real pain to everyone. Yes, it is a real shame that the city failed us with the clean up. I feel sorry for everyone who is bitching because they haven't had their mailed delivered. Am I the only Brooklynite to enjoy the last couple of days? In my neighborhood, we are dealing with this with smiles on our faces and friendly gestures for each other. Life is too short to be cranky and grouchy. I double dog dare everyone to find something positive in the last couple of days. Bet you can do it!! Kathleen

Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.

This doesn't apply to New York City. ;)

The positive things, Kathleen, are the peace and quiet before they plowed my street. The group of guys digging out a stranded car that had sat there for days.
The twinkle of light on the snow Sunday morning. The guy skiing along Hoyt street. I love it and I love the good bad and ugly. Happy New Year!
