Are the shores of the Gowanus Canal, an EPA Superfund site, the best way to advertise Vitamin Water?  Perhaps, since a new mural painted on the side of a cement company at Third Street on the banks of the canal happens to be right across the Gowanus Whole Foods parking lot.
The photo above was taken by reader Donald N. Ivanoff , who writes:
"I swear that it wasn't there when I walked by on Thursday night. It's an interesting splash of color but I'm sure that someone will get get bent out of shape about it."
I just find it incredibly ironic, don't you?

This afternoon, I made it a point to walk by to take some additional photos of the mural.  It;s big and it's yellow. And its hard to imagine how vitamin water relates to toxic Gowanus water.

It's iillegal turn the side of a building into a giant advertisement. This will be flagged by NYC DOB and painted over. Hopefully soon.
